Enfinger Close Again with Second Place Finish at Iowa Speedway, Looks to Improve by One at Lucas Oil Raceway - Posted on July 20th, 2012
CONCORD, N.C. (July 17, 2012) – Fairhope, Ala. native, Grant Enfinger, took his Allgaier Motorsports, Breland Homes Dodge to the runner-up position and a career-best finish at Iowa Speedway’s Prairie Meadows 200.

“Any time I get to drive for Allgaier Motorsports is truly a great opportunity and I don’t take it lightly,” said Enfinger. “Our focus is on winning, but when you don’t do this every week like other teams, it feels good to pull off a strong finish every time we enter a race. We have been so close in both races we have run this year, that I know it’s only a matter of time until we get a win. It was a great night and we received lots of coverage for Breland Homes, Preble-Rish Consulting Engineers, BB&T, Guthrie’s and Wurth USA.”

Iowa Speedway has been kind to Enfinger in the past, giving him two previous top-five finishes in 2010 and 2011. In Enfinger’s only other entry this season with Kelly Kovski and the team, they scored a third place finish at Toledo Speedway in May.

After qualifying in eighth position for the ARCA Series’ first night race of the season, Enfinger never fell out of the top 10 for the entirety of the 200-lap race. By lap 50 Enfinger had advanced to the fifth position and would not look back, moving to third and eventually second place where he battled for the lead in the caution-plagued last 10 laps. In a green, white, checkered finish, Enfinger was never able to overtake Alex Bowman, but brought his Breland Homes Dodge home in second place.

“It was another strong showing for Allgaier Motorsports and all of our marketing partners,” said Enfinger. “My crew chief, Kelly Kovski, made some great calls all weekend to put me in contention from the drop of the green flag. I can’t thank Breland Homes, Preble-Rish Consulting Engineers, BB&T, Guthrie’s and Wurth USA for making all of this possible.”

Enfinger and Allgaier Motorsports will be back in ARCA Racing Series action at Lucas Oil Raceway for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 on July 27.
